Homegrown spuds.

On a whim, we decided to try to grow potatoes in our garden this summer.  We’d found some that had started to sprout under our sink and decided: “Hey why not bury them?  Let’s give it a try!”

Unsurprisingly, they didn’t do too well.  I’m pretty certain our variety of potato was not meant to be planted in the summer…  Nevertheless, I had hoped against hope that since their vines had grown to a lovely length, hidden in the ground we would find a bounty of potatoes!  Sadly, we only found 3 and they were pretty small.  Mark’s proclaimed that our spuds were duds.  But, oh well!  It was still pretty neat seeing them grow.  Maybe next year we’ll give it a serious try.
